ಮುಂಡಗೋಡ ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಪಂಚಾಯತವು ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಗತಿಪರ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ-ಶಿರಸಿ ರಸ್ತೆ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ 50 ಕಿ.ಮಿ ಅಂತರದಲ್ಲಿರುತ್ತದೆ. 2001 ರ ಜನಗಣತಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ 16,173 ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಪಟ್ಟಣ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 16 ವಾರ್ಡಗಳಿದ್ದು 16 ಚುನಾಯಿತ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಹಾಗೂ 3 ನಾಮ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಿತ ಸದಸ್ಯರಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಮುಂಡಗೋಡ ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಪಂಚಾಯತದ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯು ಒಟ್ಟೂ 11.99 ಚ.ಕಿ.ಮಿ ಗಳಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಮುಂಡಗೋಡ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಕೃಷಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಭತ್ತದ ಬೆಳೆಗೆ ಹೆಸರುವಾಸಿಯಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
Mundgod Town is one of the developing towns in Uttar Kannada District. It is found on the Hubli-Sirsi State Highway at a distance of 50 kms from Sirsi. It is at a distance of 132 kms from the District headquarters i.e. Karwar. The town is bounded by Maje-Pur village in the north, Malagankoppa village in the south, Kyasanakeri village in the west, Kundergi and Nesargi village in the east. The Mundgod town is characterized by paddy fields. The land on either side of the Hubli-Sirsi road is very much suitable for development. To the northeast the town is surrounded by forest. It is suitable at an altitude of 564 mts, above the mean sea level. The climate of Mundgod is moderate except during the rainy season.
Mundgod Town Panchayath has been divided into 16 wards and from each ward there will be representative of people. Latest council came into force on 18-02-2008. There are 16 elected members. Town limit is 11.99 sq kms with population of 16,173 according to 2001 censes. The number of residential houses remunerated by the town Panchayath is 5071. The main occupation of the people of Mundgod town is agriculture. Paddy is the Major Crop. Mundgod is an important Trading Centre for Paddy
ಗಣಕೀಕರಣ : ಮುಂಡಗೋಡ ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಪಂಚಾಯತ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ ಆಸ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ ಆಸ್ತಿ ವಿವರಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಗಣಕೀಕರಿಸುವ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಪ್ರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಶೀಘ್ರದಲ್ಲೇ ನಾಗರೀಕರು ಇದರ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯ ಪಡೆಯಬಹುದಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
ಇದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ 1990ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನಿಂದ ಈವರೆಗೆ ಜನನ ಮತ್ತು ಮರಣ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗಣಕೀಕೃತಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದು, ನಾಗರೀಕರು ಇನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆ ಜನನ-ಮರಣ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಗಧಿತ ಶುಲ್ಕ ಪಾವತಿಸಿ ಪಡೆಯಬಹುದಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
Computerisation : Properties within Mundgod TP limits have been identified & details have been collected & Computerisation of records is under progress. Citizens can avail this facility to pay property tax shortly.
Birth & Death records are available online from the year 1990. Citizens can make use of this facility to register & obtain Birth & Death Certificates.
ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಕುಂದುಕೊರತೆ ವಿಭಾಗ: ಸನ್ 2011-12 ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನ ಅವಧಿಗೆ ಶ್ರೀ ಈಶ್ವರ ಸೇವಾ ಸಮಿತಿ(ರಿ), ಮುಂಡಗೋಡ ಇವರು ಮುಂಡಗೋಡ ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಪಂಚಾಯತದ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಕುಂದುಕೊರತೆ ನಿರ್ವಹಣಾ ಘಟಕದ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆಗಾಗಿ ದಿನಾಂಕ: 19-10-2011 ರಿಂದ ನೇಮಕಾತಿ ಹೊಂದಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಸದರಿ ಘಟಕವು ಮುಂಜಾನೆ 8 ರಿಂದ ಸಂಜೆ 8 ಗಂಟೆಯವರೆಗೆ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಅರ್ಜಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಹವಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿ ತ್ವರಿತವಾಗಿ ಬಗೆಹರಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದು. ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರು ದೂರುಗಳಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿ ಘಟಕದ ದೂರವಾಣಿ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ : 08301-222087 ಗೆ ಸಂರ್ಪಕಿಸಬಹುದು.
